The changes made inside the Classic Flap Bag Collection has always been done without any announcement or notice. For example, there were two sizes of the Extra Mini Classic Flap Bag. Now there is just one size. Another example, the single flap of the Jumbo Bag has disappeared without warning. Now we can only get the double flap. The New Mini Classic Bag is actually a new size and it’s introduced not very long ago. But not much information has been shared on Chanel’s website. Not up until today.
Surprisingly, not only did Chanel feature the New Mini Classic Bag in the Spring Summer 2018 Collection Act 2, but they showcased a lot of variation of styles as well, like in multicolor tweed or in patent. In this article, we are going to chat about this bag and why it’s the perfect mini bag.
The Design
The New Mini Classic Bag is one of the smallest sizes in the Classic Flap Bag Collection, but some people do prefer the Square Classic Bag. Which one you are going to choose, is all about personal preferences, however the new Mini does look a lot more like the Classic Flap Bags, especially in shape.
The New Mini is crafted in Diamond Quilting, but we’ve seen Chevron Quilting as well. It features the signature CC logo, just like the bigger sizes. And it also comes with a woven chain leather strap for shoulder carry. The New Mini is truly a Classic and certainly timeless. If Chanel decides to increase the Classic Bag prices, the New Mini will automatic follow. Oh and yes, this mini bag is also quite limited, because it gets sold-out most of the times due to a lot of demands.
The New Mini Classic Bag or the Classic Quilted WOC
Both handbags are stunning, but there are some differences. The New Mini is less structured in the interior, The WOC is designed with card slots, patch pockets and so much more, it’s just like a big wallet with chain. However, the New Mini is crafted with a main compartment, but also a zip and patch pockets.
The experience is different also due to the look. The WOC features a tiny CC logo while the New Mini comes with a bigger CC logo.
And in terms of size, the WOC is measured 4.8’ x 7.6’ x 1.4’ inches. The New Mini Classic Flap Bag measures 4.9’ x 7.9’ x 2.8’ inches. So in spacing, the New Mini wins. It’s bigger in width, length as well as depth (which means it can store more items). So which one do you prefer?
The New Mini Classic Bag or Square Classic Bag
The choice between the New Mini and the Square Classic Bag is just personal preference as well. The main difference is the shape, but the design is completely the same as the Medium Classic Flap Bag.
The New Mini is sized 4.9’ x 7.9’ x 2.8’ inches and the Square Classic Bag is sized 5.3’ x 6.7’ x 3.1’ inches. So in terms of length, the New Mini wins, but in terms of height, the Square Classic Bag wins. The interior of the Square Classic Bag should a bit bigger than the New Mini.
